What is a Traineeship?
The Traineeship program is the perfect way to kick start your career before you tie yourself down to an Apprenticeship or full-time employment. Traineeships are a fully funded training opportunity for people aged 16-24. The programme is designed to build employability skills and create an effective CV alongside gaining a Customer Service qualification.
No matter what industry interests you, our Traineeship programmes cover many sectors including Care, Administration, IT & Design, Beauty and Construction. We work with various employers who are looking for someone just like you. You will enhance your desirability to employers through a 6-9 week training programme. Your time will be split between working with your employer and training with TheLightBulb.
The benefits:
- Help with getting work, such as writing a CV and finding a job
- A work placement of 70 hours or more
- Help with the skills you’ll need for an apprenticeship or job in the area you want to work in
- A job interview or feedback from an employer
- Help with English, maths and basic digital skills (if you need it)

What can it lead to?
A traineeship has the opportunity for you to progress on to an Apprenticeship and get paid while you are developing your skills and knowledge. An Apprenticeship would suit people who are looking to gain that extra qualification and have support from a mentor along the way.
Alternatively, you could progress straight into employment after your traineeship. There might be an option for you to stay on with your traineeship employer, if not you will have gained experience in a job role you are interested in alongside CV and interview skills for the future.
