What is the Skills Bootcamp in Web Development?
The Skills Bootcamp in Web Development will equip learners with the practical and technical knowledge of web design, to include how to define, design, and build a website through HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SVG’s.
We have worked closely with employers to create this highly interactive, practical and creative Skills Bootcamp which develops knowledge and skills needed within the digital sector. As part of this co-design employers are providing marketing and web design briefs to deliver real life industry campaign experience for the participants. This interactive programme uses a combination of tutor led workshops, 1:1 coaching and support sessions, e-learning content and self study as well as promotion collaborative peer to peer engagement.
At the end of the programme the learner will have created a portfolio of work samples and a presentation to deliver to prospective employers at their guaranteed interview. They will have prepared a learning impact statement to detail the knowledge and skills they have developed throughout the Skills Bootcamp.
Course Structure:
Interactive online group sessions and 1:1 support sessions
12 week course - two workshop sessions a week - 9:00am to 2:30pm
Sessions delivered by employers, employability experts and Business owners
Eligibility:
Aged 19 or over
Must have the right to work in the UK
Must live in Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk or a London Borough

Roles and responsibilities within a web design team when developing a website
The components of web design and the key concepts involved in web design
Create a web page using HTML, marking up text and adding internal & external links
Adding images, audio & videos to a web page and creating tables & HTML forms
Understand Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and understanding colours & backgrounds
Use CSS to float and position elements and apply common CSS techniques
Understand the key concepts of JavaScript and using Document Object Model (DOM)
Understand the fundamentals of web images and Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG)

The course is all remote and will be held over Mircosoft Teams for the duration of the programme.

The course is over two days a week for 12 consecutive weeks.
Can I leave the session halfway through if necessary?
Yes, as long as the tutor has been made aware for them to send you the session overview.
Are the sessions recorded?
Yes, certain parts of the sessions are recorded and are sent to you by the tutor via Mircosoft Teams.
Am I guaranteed a job at the end of it?
We can only guarantee a job interview.
Do we have exams throughout the course?
Yes, depending on what Skills Bootcamp you are on, you will have exams to complete throughout.
How much does the Skills Bootcamp cost?
The Skills Bootcamps are completely free, it is funded by the Department of Education (Dfe).
