Job description:

This year-long programme teaches real-world skills in the practical and luxury environments of our beautiful state-of-the-art flagship store in Knightsbridge. From how to serve customers from around the globe, driving loyalty and being commercially savvy and bringing it full circle with our unique multichannel services. Apprentices will gain experience in all aspects of our multisite and multichannel retail business, to ensure they graduate with industry expertise.

On-the-job rotation training with different retail departments will enable the apprentices to have a holistic view of how a luxury department store operates. The experiences will be divided into two sections.

Section 1: Front of the House Experience

On a rotation basis, you will be the first point of contact in our Womenswear, Menswear and Beauty departments, and will be engaging with our customers by providing them with expert style and beauty advice. You will approach every customer with the sole purpose of serving their every need whilst making it a fun and enjoyable 5-star experience. In addition, you will need to handle all point of sales transactions, develop a high level of product knowledge, and share your opinions on current and future fashion and beauty trends.

Section 2: Back of the House Experience

Store Fulfilment Team

You will be picking, packing, and despatching all items for mail orders and store fulfilment orders in an efficient manner. By paying attention to detail, you will need to flag any stock damages and discrepancies to the Department Manager and try every possible way to locate and collect the products for customer online orders, to facilitate effective online sales.

Stock Movement Team

Working in the busy loading bay, you will be processing all daily deliveries, collating all new styles for the shop floor, and ensuring replenishments are ready for store trading. You will become an expert in liaising with management and buying team for brand moves and changes.

Corporate Gifting & Events

Explore another aspect of luxury retail, you will be assisting the team to organise different private events in our event space, which includes liaising with different store departments, such as fashion, beauty, and hospitality to ensure accurate event arrangements are in place. In addition, you will be given administrative tasks regarding gifting and hamper orders to be delivered to customers accurately.

Display

You will be responsible for providing support services for visual display throughout the store and making a visual impact on the customer journey, including window displays and signages. Start your day with floor checks to ensure standards of presentation and to report and rectify any issues. You will also be involved in assisting with the production and implementation of display materials, movement of mannequins and provide support for the installations for promotional events.

Cash Office

Assisting overall cash office operations, ensuring all tasks are carried out to a high level, promptly and accurately, to minimise the risk of financial loss. You will assist in managing floats and change, counting bank takings, adherence to the Cash Office and company policies, managing receipts and all Cash Office-related paperwork, using and storing information legibly.
