What is this framework?

This Apprenticeship is intended to attract new talent into a career in Business & Administration or to help up skill the existing workforce.  If this apprenticeship is chosen, learners will gain employer led, up to date, flexible qualifications which meet the changing skills needs of employers and develop softer skills such as communication, team working, interpersonal skills and the ability to reflect on personal learning.

Administrators need a broad range of skills to work efficiently and to help increase business productivity.  Skills shortages identified by organisations include a lack of office and administration skills customer-handling skills, technical and practical skills, oral communication skills and IT skills, all of which are covered in this Business & Administration Apprenticeship framework.  An advanced apprentice will also cover supervisory skills to reflect the increased responsibilities of their roles and to support their ongoing career development.

Which qualifications need to be achieved?

  • City & Guilds NVQ Diploma in Business & Administration Level 3
  • EDI Certificate in Principles of Business & Administration Level 3
  • Communication Level 2
  • Application of Number Level 2
  • ICT Level 2
  • Non Accredited Employee Rights and Responsibilities module

Which job roles are suitable?

Ideally learners would be in a senior administration role with some degree of responsibility for others.  Suggested roles for this apprenticeship are:

  • Administration Executive/Officer
  • Administration Team Leader
  • Personal Assistant
  • Secretary
