Skills for Care Conference 30th April 2014
Andrea Gregory and Lisa Webb attended the Skills 4 Care conference on 30th April 2014 at the Hilton Hotel, Stansted. The conference involved employers, training providers, job centre plus advisors and people who already work or wish to work in the care sector. The aim of the conference was to make sure the right people are being employed for the right jobs, especially after the bad press that has recently been aired.
Lisa and Andrea conducted two workshops; they spoke about TheLightBulb, and the areas that we cover such as, Sector Based Work Academies, Apprenticeships and Traineeships. After the workshop a short film was shown, regarding people who had never worked in the care sector, however decided to train into this career, it was mentioned how much they enjoyed it and how rewarding they found it.
